Education

We hold on to the mandate of contributing to children’s cognitive development through formal and informal educational programs. Through our partnerships with other organizations, we help children enrolled within our programs obtain scholarships to attain and complete formal education.

Our Bookclub offers computer lessons, reading and writing sessions, as well as homework assistance for the kids within the community.

Socio-Emotional Facilitation

The organisation’s objective is in building socially assertive individuals, with significant resilience that enables them to reach for the stars. Through Socio-Emotional Facilitation, we offer the children a safe space, wherein they may be able to play, learn, and essentially make growing up an enjoyable experience for them.

Growing up in an underprivileged community, as is the case for the children at Ngozi Mine dumpsite, presents a need for the children to grow up much quicker than the average child. We noted how children had to care for their siblings in the absence of adult caregivers, take up the use of alcohol and drugs or marry young to escape poverty.

With this in mind, we’ve designed extra-curricular activities, which range from chess playing, historical tours, cinema time and spelling contests, which contribute to the development of the children socially.

These activities help to channel their youthful minds into productive labours, within their physical, emotional and social development, while protecting from the snares within their environment.

Leadership Training

Through leadership training, Bethlehem Covenant has been the children to career guidance seminars and mentorship programs.

The organisation actively engages volunteer participation with partners such as Do It For The Kids (DIFTK) and the platform has been serving as a basis for mentorship opportunities for the children, through their exposure to varying professions and areas of expertise
